Is your desired color out of stock (or need more of a color)? Select the Dyed to Order option (the final thumbnail above) and note the name of the colorway you want in your cart. We will dye it to order and ship it within 2 weeks. (Dyed To Order quantities are limited as we only offer what we currently have in the studio.)

***A note on colors: currently Dancing in the Moonlight and Natural are shown on Eco Merino Worsted, and all other colors are shown on Eco Merino Light. This is an accurate representation of how these colors will appear on Eco Merino DK (and we continue to work to update these photos as quickly as we can).

Variation is normal in hand dyed yarn and a part of its beauty, and the same color will appear different on different fibers, different monitors, and in different light. When possible we recommend buying yarn in person, but if your local yarn shop doesn't carry our yarn rest assured - we offer free returns within 30 days of delivery, so there's no risk to trying something new!***

Working up to a standard DK-weight gauge, this yarn is also a great substitute in your favorite DK-weight patterns.

About This Base's Sustainability

This yarn is 100% certified organic merino wool, meaning that it passes a very high bar for its environmental effects. You can read all about the Global Organic Textile Standards here, but in brief this wool has been produced in a sustainable manner, with careful attention paid to the welfare of the sheep and the land in each phase of production. It is important to note that while the fiber content is 100% organic merino and our dyes are also 100% GOTS compliant, our yarn is not considered organic (we are a very small business and currently it is too expensive to pursue organic certification, though this is a goal for the future).

We do adhere to the spirit of the standards and dye all of our yarns in a way that produces minimal waste, pH-neutral and non-toxic wastewater, and minimizes energy and water usage. And like all of our yarns, it is biodegradable and compostable.

All yarn is dyed to order and ships within 2 weeks.

US orders over $100 ship free (generally via USPS Priority shipping for all areas except the West coast, and via UPS Ground for the West coast).

In line with our commitment to sustainability, our packaging is 100% recycled and recyclable with your regular paper recycling (yes, including the label)!

International orders: please note that customs forms will accurately reflect your order and purchase price. In general we recommend using USPS for international orders to reduce the chances of surprise fees. We cannot control or be responsible for any fees imposed by other countries, but we are happy to use your preferred shipping method to help minimmize surprises.
