The question: What if a shawl were actually practical to wear all day, and stylish too?

The answer: It would be a Shweater!

Shweater is a quick knit constructed just like a basic shawl - with one unique twist that changes everything. It’s worked back and forth in rows using only k, p, and kfb, so it’s suitable even for relatively new knitters. With simple raglan-style shaping and sleeves it wears just like a sweater, but the shawl-inspired construction makes it almost magically easy to get a perfect fit from a completely flat fabric. What makes the Shweater truly special is the technique used to create the sleeves - it’s deceptively simple, especially with the help of a video tutorial included with the pattern.

The best part is wearing it, though - it’s the kind of sweater your friends will want to steal and you’ll want to wear all day!

The pattern includes detailed written instructions for sizes XS-4/5XL, plus instructions for how to further customize the fit for a variety of heights, sizes, and desired fits. There are instructions for knitting it using solid colors in DK weight, and additional instructions for knitting a marled fade version with 2 strands of fingering weight (as in the gray/blue Earth Mama sample).
